France: Marine Nationale fires SCALP in double pack

At the end of April, the French defence administration DGA, the Direction Générale de l'Armement in Paris, published a video of the first simultaneous land target firing of the new naval cruise missile MdCN (missile de croisière naval, also known as SCALP-Naval), manufactured by the European consortium MBDA. Royal Australian Navy: Deconstruction "down under"

"Only the highest standards are good enough!"

Interview with the commander of the frigate HESSEN by Holger Schlüter. There are many questions following the end of the explosive deployment of the frigate HESSEN in the Red Sea. The German public must accept that there are limits to transparency, even for their own safety. The findings are now being extensively analysed, both technically, tactically and in terms of personnel. The man most in demand during the operation was nevertheless available to marineforum. Mr Kübsch, our deep respect for you and your crew! How many interviews have you already given...

Suez Canal - Revenue down

Since merchant ships in the Red Sea have been repeatedly attacked by the Yemeni Houthi militia, demonstrating their support for the militant Palestinian Hamas in their fight against Israel, the number of ship passages has fallen from 25,911 in the 2022/2023 financial year to 20,148 in 2023/2024, according to the head of the Egyptian Canal Authority. The Suez Canal's annual revenue fell by over 23 per cent from 8.55 billion euros to 6.55 billion euros in the last financial year, which ends in June, as various shipping companies and shippers switched to alternative routes. Alongside tourism, the Suez Canal is an indispensable source of income for Egypt. Source: gCaptain...
