Benefit concert with the Wilhelmshaven Naval Music Corps

Bremen State Command and Bundeswehr Social Welfare Organisation organise Concert at St Peter's Cathedral in Bremen

For the second time, the Bremen State Command and the Bundeswehr-Sozialwerk e.V. are organising a charity concert in Bremen Cathedral. The Wilhelmshaven Naval Music Corps will be playing selected works of church music on 5 November from 19:00 under the direction of frigate captain Matthias Prock.

The programme consists of a very heartfelt piece of music "Ubi Caritas", which was composed for a wind sextet and large wind orchestra. The composition is structured in such a way that the entire church space is included (spatial sound music).
A work for solo tuba and orchestra is also planned. Every year there is an Instrument of the Year in Germany. For 2024, this is the tuba. Accordingly, a soloist from the orchestra will perform a special composition by Philip Spakre for tuba and orchestra. One of the highlights will be the performance of the well-known melody "Hallelujah"
by Leonard Cohen. The arrangement was written by Staff Sergeant Guido Rennert from the Bundeswehr Music Corps. The main works are the "Variations on a Hymn by Louis Bourgeois" in an arrangement by Claude T. Smith and the work "In Memoriam" by Bert Appertmont.

The proceeds will benefit the "Aktion Sorgenkinder in Bundeswehrfamilien des Bundeswehr-Sozialwerkes".

The concert on 05.11.24 starts at 19:00, admission at the box office costs 13 euros.
