The Finnish company Marine Alutech Oy supplies landing craft to the Mariniers Corps

The Littoral Assault Craft (LAC) will be the Marine Corps' new landing craft, replacing the current Landing Craft Vehicle Personnel (LCVP) ships and will be delivered from 2026 to 2028. The LAC was developed by Marine Alutech. It follows the new doctrine of the Corps Mariniers. This concept enables the simultaneous landing of marines and their equipment from amphibious transport vessels positioned further offshore.

The new device offers a significant leap in performance and is equipped with powerful weapon systems. It is faster than its predecessors, capable of travelling greater distances and operating at sea for longer periods of time. The Royal Netherlands Navy is on the verge of a comprehensive fleet modernisation. The LAK has therefore been developed to be compatible with both the current and next generation of amphibious transport ships.

Marine Alutech Oy Ab is a Finnish family business known for its modern and fast smaller government vehicles. The company specialises in the development, production, maintenance and life cycle support of these units. Marine Alutech is currently expanding and has an order backlog of around 200 million euros.
