Reconnaissance ship Dupuy de Lome passed through the Kiel Canal

As mysterious as this type of ship may be, they always manage to add something mystical. Kiel on Saturday morning shortly after sunrise: The French AGI FS Dupuy de Lome (A 759) came into the Bay of Kiel from the central Baltic Sea to start the NOK passage towards Brunsbüttel at around 08:00 with the support of two tugs. She was sighted at midday near Albersdorf when she was harnessed by the tugs PARAT and OSK RENDSBURG and headed for Brunsbüttel. She left the NOK at about 14:00. This marks the end of an almost two-month-long deployment of the most powerful reconnaissance unit of the German Navy in the Baltic Sea. The reconnaissance ship was in the Baltic Sea during the entire manoeuvre phase of US Baltops and during the Russian naval manoeuvres. There was no co-operation with the NATO units.

We reported in detail on 27 May: https://marineforum.online/frankreichs-ohren-in-der-ostsee/

Oh, one more thing: you always read about "spy ships". Experts don't call an AGI that; after all, espionage isn't subtle.
