GERMAN NAVAL YARDS Kiel signs new contract for the construction of a superyacht hull over 100 metres long for a superyacht

GNYK announces that the order has been placed by Abeking & Rasmussen (A&R). A&R is internationally recognised for its exceptional ability to build bespoke superyachts. The project involves the construction of a steel hull, while the superstructure will be made of aluminium. This project is an example of German shipyards working in partnership. The construction of a yacht is a demanding project, because yachts are also quasi „specialised shipbuilding“. As is usual in this genre, there was of course no information about the client, the owner behind it or any details about the equipment.
At the same time, work is progressing on the 114 metre superyacht ELF in GNY's covered dock. With its extensive infrastructure, the shipyard is expanding the luxury yacht building segment.
German Naval Yards Kiel, part of the European group CMN NAVAL headquartered in France, continues a shipbuilding tradition that goes back more than 185 years. Originating from the surface shipbuilding division of HDW, it is both a shipbuilder and repairer of civilian and naval vessels with modern infrastructure and the largest dry dock in the Baltic Sea region.
