At the Covestro pier in Brunsbüttel in the Dithmarschen district, the water police discovered a suspected environmental offence at the beginning of February. During an inspection, there were indications that a motor tanker had allegedly discharged around 2,200 cubic metres of untreated ballast water into the North Sea.
