Since 7 February 2026, the last remaining navigable section between Hanover-Anderten in Lower Saxony and the Minden waterway junction in North Rhine-Westphalia has also been closed. Inland waterways effectively brought to a standstill. This means that a significant part of inland logistics in northern Germany has come to a standstill.
