EuroNaval: iXblue + ECA Group = Exail

ECA Group and iXblue become Exail. Following the acquisition of iXblue by the Gorgé Group at the end of September, the ECA Group and iXblue announced on the opening day of EuroNaval, 18 October 2022, that both companies will operate under a new joint brand: Exail.

This brings together two different areas of technology. iXblue offers navigation and platform stabilisation systems. The global group also offers photonics solutions for the aerospace, science, medical, communication and quantum technology sectors.

ECA Group specialises in automation and control technologies in the maritime sector. The Toulon-based holding company is known for its remote-controlled and autonomous systems, which are used in deep-sea exploration and pipeline inspection.

With this merger, Exail will become a global company with technologies in the fields of robotics, shipping, navigation, aerospace and photonics in its repertoire. Accordingly, Exail is focussing on the fields of marine and other maritime applications, aviation, photonics, military and industrial applications. The company employs 1,500 people worldwide and is active in over 80 countries. It is part of Groupe Gorgé, a family business specialising in high technology.

Exail has set itself the goal of responding to numerous challenges in today's world, be they of a security, environmental or socio-political nature. The Group is convinced that the development of breakthrough technologies will make it possible to meet these new challenges. Exail's teams will continue to create innovative solutions to explore new territories, from the bottom of the oceans to the frontiers of space. By mastering cutting-edge technologies, the Group will be at the centre of its customers' most complex missions.
