NVL builds coastal defence boats in Egypt

NVL Egypt starts the production phase for ten new coastal defence boats for the Egyptian Navy with the start of firing for PV43-M

NVL Egypt, a subsidiary of NVL, began production of the PV43-M naval shipbuilding programme on schedule in September. The ten new coastal defence vessels are designed for surveillance and reconnaissance tasks as well as for the protection of critical maritime infrastructure and will be built in
The ships are being built in co-operation with the Egyptian shipyard Alexandria Shipyard. The 43-metre-long units will be equipped with state-of-the-art weapon systems from leading European defence companies. NVL Egypt has been selected by the Arab Republic of Egypt as the prime contractor for the programme in 2023. The ten naval vessels will be built entirely in Egypt in cooperation with the Egyptian shipyard Alexandria Shipyard and with technical support from the German parent company NVL. At the same time, the programme will contribute significantly to the development of the national naval industry through technology transfer.
