Polish frigate programme takes shape

The steel for the first of three planned "Miecznik" class frigates for the Polish Navy was cut in Gdansk on 16 August 2023. The ships are being built by a consortium with Remontowa Shipbuilding SA based on the "Arrowhead 140" design by Babcock International. Babcock, Thales UK and MBDA UK are the strategic project partners.
