Defence Minister Boris Pistorius invited the public to come and see what the Bundeswehr can do on Armed Forces Day. Of the technology, the equipment - but above all of the people in the Bundeswehr.

On Saturday, 17 June 2023, over 200,000 people across Germany took the opportunity to get to know the Bundeswehr and its soldiers and civilian employees at ten different locations.

The gates of the "4th Gateway" were also open to visitors at the Bundeswehr and Navy's largest base in Wilhelmshaven. Several thousand people showed great interest in the presentations of the armed forces and organisational areas of the Bundeswehr. The Federal Police, the Water Police, the Customs Directorate, the Prison Organisation, the German Maritime Search and Rescue Association and other clubs and associations also gave presentations.

MOV/MOH and DMI used the day (in the best "imperial weather") to introduce themselves to visitors to the naval base. Together, Elmar Brocksieper and Berti Brüdegam, both Managing Directors of MOV and DMI, answered questions from interested visitors and presented the magazine marine forum and the website marineforum.online presented. The booklets of the marineforums sold like hot cakes. Applications to join the MOV were even distributed.

During her tour of the exhibition area, the Parliamentary State Secretary in the BMVg, Siemtje Möller, was welcomed at the MOV/DMI stand by former Rear Admiral Thorsten Kähler, Chairman of the MOV. This was a welcome opportunity to inform the State Secretary about the work and objectives of MOV and DMI.
