Rohde & Schwarz Emirates will equip the vessels with NAVICS, an integrated, IP-based and fail-safe naval communications system that supports interoperability within the Gulf Cooperation Council.
NAVICS will be used in addition to the existing external line-of-sight (VHF/UHF) and beyond-line-of-sight (HF) communication solutions. In addition to external communication, NAVICS also ensures internal communication on board and guarantees a multi-level security architecture that enables secure, trustworthy and tamper-proof communication. This means that third parties cannot interfere with the exchange of information.
