Over three dozen people attended the virtual founding of the Bundeswehr and Reservists Running Team association on 29 November 2021 and gave the runners, who came together during the coronavirus pandemic, a constitution and a board of directors.
Charitable purpose
The new association is also to be entered in the register of associations in the near future and will pursue exclusively charitable purposes. It aims to support members of the Bundeswehr and reservists who are in need through no fault of their own, as well as supporting Bundeswehr-related organisations and civilian aid organisations.
Major General Nultsch new Chairman
Chairman of the newly founded association is Major General Gerd Nultsch, Vice President of the Federal Office of Bundeswehr Equipment, Information Technology and In-Service Support. The previous heads of the organisation team, Frigate Captain Anke Mies and Lieutenant Colonel Oliver Muhs, will act as deputies.
"Mining" donations by running
At the founding event, the new chairman emphasised how much support the running team had received so far for a variety of charitable causes. He was confident that this commitment would be further strengthened by the founding of the association.
