Singapore's special forces with innovative minisubs

For its special forces, the city state has acquired a few mini-submarines, which only a few countries have and about which there is little to be found in the media.

These are the so-called CCUs (Combatant Craft Underwater), which can reach high speeds above water with a crew of two and six divers and can travel submerged in the operational area. The "Carrier Seal" model, developed by the British James Fisher Defence (JFD), uses a diesel-powered water jet propulsion system that can also be used underwater for some time until a battery is switched on. The minisub can be loaded by air and road, but can also be carried as an external load on submarines. Simply ingenious.
