On 28 June, the German Armed Forces Day will take place at ten locations across Germany under the motto "We are here". A special venue is the Hanseatic city of Stralsund - known as the cradle of the navy, where the Bundeswehr opens its doors. This year, the Parow Naval Technology School is in charge of organising the event, which takes place centrally on the harbour island in the heart of the city of Stralsund.
Visitors will gain comprehensive insights into the tasks and capabilities of the navy and other areas of the Bundeswehr. The event offers a varied programme with informative demonstrations, modern technology and the opportunity for personal exchanges with servicemen and women. The programme includes demonstrations with helicopters and maritime technology as well as personal discussions with soldiers about their activities on board and during missions abroad. Families in particular can expect an appealing and informative programme that introduces them to maritime security and defence in a fun way. Visitors will be able to take a close look at a tender and a corvette as well as other technical equipment and receive explanations from experts. The Bundeswehr's career counselling service will also be on hand.
The Bundeswehr Day is intended to promote dialogue about security policy, missions and career prospects in the Bundeswehr. Admission is free. Visit the German Navy on the harbour island in Stralsund and learn about the diverse tasks of the German Navy and the entire Bundeswehr. We look forward to your visit!
