The Defence technology Office (WTD 71) for Ships and Naval weapons, Maritime Technology and Research in Eckernförde becomes two new STS-Boats from the Company TAMSEN MARITIM from Rostock received. The Workboats replace the Class 744 (e.g. AK2) and become the WTD 71 from End 2022 time-shifted run into.

Forgiven was the Order from the Federal Office for Equipment, Information technology and Utilisation (BAAINBw) in the Frame one Europe-wide award procedure. With the STS-Boating trades itself at matured, to the newest Rules the German Flag, civilian Standards and the Regulations of the DNV constructed Vehicles. Further The shipyard has not yet announced details on propulsion, tonnage and size.

Both Units become future to the Towing and Bowsing other Naval units used, their Sea areas them while the Trials secure can. The Equipment the Boats allowed under other the Bergen from under Water fixed Device and the Use from Ttoo. Moreover suitable itself the Equipment the Boats to the Calibrate from Sonars other Naval units and the Target visualisation.


TAMSEN MARITIM, known as a highly specialised repair yard for mine countermeasures units, among other things, is now re-establishing itself with New designs also for the German Navy. Last year, the Rostock-based company was awarded the contract for customs patrol boats on the Warnow (marine forum 3-21).

  1. Moin, the STS boats will replace the class 744 e.g. AK 2. Class 745 will be replaced by SVK (Seeversicherung Küste) these two boats are under contract with the FASSMER shipyard in Berne. There is no order yet for the successor class 748 (MZB Mittel). Yours sincerely, M. Otto
