Kiel - TKMS has made a remarkable "career move" shortly after its IPO and has been promoted to the MDAX.
Deutsche Börse regularly reviews the composition of its indices every three months and adjusts them on the basis of market capitalisation and trading turnover. With the inclusion of TKMS, the focus is on a company that has been able to position itself among the 50 largest listed companies below the DAX in a very short space of time.
It was only in October 2025 that Thyssenkrupp Marine Systems was spun off from its parent company Thyssenkrupp and floated on the stock exchange as an independent company. Just two months later, in December, the company was promoted to the MDAX. Such a rapid index change is unusual and indicates that investors believe the maritime company has sustainable growth and earnings power.
The promotion to the MDAX thus marks an important milestone in the company's strategic positioning.
