From a press release by UVNord - Vereinigung der Unternehmensverbände in Hamburg und Schleswig-Holstein e. V.:
Business expectations remain positive.
The willingness to invest and hire remains strong.
Strengthening Schleswig-Holstein as an industrial location.
Kiel. "The Defence technology companies in Schleswig-Holstein expect business to continue to develop well in 2022, driven by higher sales, further staff growth and a pronounced willingness to invest. The 100 billion euro special fund to strengthen the Bundeswehr will provide a particular boost. Defence technology companies in Schleswig-Holstein also expect to play a significant role in the planned procurement projects. This was the conclusion drawn by the Chairman of the Schleswig- Holstein Defence Technology Working Group, Dieter Hanelfrom the results of a survey conducted by his organisation in summer 2022, in which 18 member companies of the working group with a total of 6,320 employees directly involved in defence technology took part.
With the Turnover the expectations of larger companies in particular are Growth orientated. The main growth driver here continues to be the Export. The export activities of the companies in the alliance partners are correspondingly intensive. Thanks to the 100 billion euro special fund, a strong increase in domestic demand is also expected.
In the Human Resources the signs are pointing to "Settings". One problem is the pronounced shortage of skilled labour, which is hampering growth.
"The defence technology companies in the country," concludes the Working Group on Defence Technology, "are still focused on On the road to success. They are an important part of Schleswig-Holstein as an industrial centre. We are delighted that the state government also appreciates and recognises the significance of this important industry."
