Air defence system for Ukraine

Diehl Defence, HENSOLDT and Airbus deliver deficits to NATO Diehl Defence has delivered a combat unit of the IRIS-T SLM air defence system to Ukraine with HENSOLDT and Airbus. The contract was signed in June 2022 and, as Diehl announced in a press release, further IRIS-T SLM combat systems will follow as quickly as the industrial process allows. EuroNaval: Presentation of the Israeli Sa'ar S-80

Update in the section S-80 as a replacement for the Israeli Navy, clarification in the description and photo of the model on display. Israel Shipyards used EuroNaval in Paris to present its new development on 19 October 2022: a corvette with the designation Sa'ar S-80. 80 metres long, 11 metres wide and displacing 1,000 tonnes, the unit is powered by four diesel engines via two shafts and has controllable pitch propellers. It should be able to reach a top speed of more than 28 knots. The superstructures on the steel hull are designed according to stealth principles and are made of aluminium. The S-80 is expected to have a range of 3,500 nautical miles (at 12 knots).

George H.W. Bush Carrier Strike Group under NATO command

The George H.W. Bush Carrier Strike Group was placed under NATO command on Friday as part of the Neptune Strike 2022 exercise series, the Pentagon's deputy press secretary announced. Prince of Wales into the dock

The Royal Navy aircraft carrier HMS Prince of Wales is on its way from Portsmouth to Rosyth. When the ship sailed for New York last month, damage occurred to the starboard shaft. Inspection by divers revealed that the shaft coupling had failed. Journalists film damage from the Nord Stream explosion

A section of the Nord Stream 1 gas pipeline in the Baltic Sea at least 50 metres long is missing, the Swedish daily Expressen reported on Tuesday after taking what it said were the first publicly published pictures of the damage.
