Old wine in new bottles: faster procurement?

In May 2022, it became known that the Ministry of Defence was working on a draft law to accelerate procurement measures of the German Armed Forces - "in short" the Bundeswehr Procurement Acceleration Act (BwBBG) - and, as the smooth name suggests, the law is intended to "apply facilitations under public procurement law to accelerate the awarding of public contracts", according to a formulation aid from the Federal Government. The world's leading maritime trade fair SMM is back

Innovations for climate protection and increased efficiency took centre stage at this year's SMM. Nevertheless, the industry is facing difficult times. After a four-year break (not only) due to the coronavirus pandemic, the global shipbuilding industry met in Hamburg at the beginning of September for its 30th world-leading trade fair for the maritime industry. Netherlands: Walrus successor - request for proposals expected from mid-November

Available on the website of the Dutch Ministry of Defence since 30 September 2022: the request for quotation will be sent to the three competing shipyards in mid-November 2022. Navy establishes new "Centre for Naval Tactics"

As of today, the "Naval Tactical Centre" is part of the Naval Operations School in Bremerhaven Today, on 4 October 2022, the "Naval Tactical Centre" was newly established in Bremerhaven in the presence of Rear Admiral Christoph Müller-Meinhard, Commander Support and Head of the Operational Support Department at Naval Command, and the Commander of the Naval Operations School, Captain Jens Grimm.
