The 51st US Baltic Operations, the most important maritime exercise in the Baltic Sea region, will run from 5 to 17 June. Fourteen NATO countries, two NATO partner nations, over 45 ships, more than 75 aircraft and around 7,000 people will take part in BALTOPS 22. Participating nations include Belgium, Bulgaria, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Sweden, Turkey, the United Kingdom and the United States. DB Schenker is planning an electrically powered autonomous coastal container feeder in Norway. Two-way data communication solution between ship and coastal control centre will revolutionise the sea freight sector. Plans to operate a zero-emission coastal container feeder vessel between Ikornnes Quay and the port of Ålesund in Norway were recently unveiled. The autonomous and all-electric vessel will utilise Naval Dynamics' NDS AutoBarge 250 concept, developed in collaboration with Kongsberg and Massterly.
