Egyptian Navy - Navbase Gargoub inaugurated

At the beginning of July in Gargoub, halfway from Alexandria to the Libyan border, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi inaugurated a 1000 metre long deep-water (14 m) harbour pier as the largest national naval base, TKMS in Kiel handed over the S 44 submarine, the fourth of the 209/1400 mod type, to the Egyptian Navy. They replace the four boats of the outdated Romeo class that were taken over from China in the 1980s and converted to American Sub-Harpoon and Mk37 wire-guided torpedoes. Abeking & Rasmussen - The art of shipbuilding

German shipyards have established themselves in lucrative niche markets with innovations and expertise. A visit to Abeking & Rasmussen in Lemwerder. Today, the Gorch Fock set sail for Wilhelmshaven and headed down the Weser towards Helgoland. Lürssen took over responsibility for the restoration of this ship in October 2019 and initially moved the barque to Berne. In the spring of this year, the ship was successfully launched and towed to Lemwerder for further outfitting with the help of tugs.
