Royal Australian Navy: Deconstruction "down under"

After just 15 years in active service, the Royal Australian Navy decommissioned its largest ship, the 47,000-tonne displacement tanker "Sirius", at the end of 2021. Since resale was probably not profitable either, the...

"Only the highest standards are good enough!"

Interview with the commander of the frigate HESSEN by Holger Schlüter. There are many questions following the end of the explosive deployment of the frigate HESSEN in the Red Sea. Not all of them can be answered by the ship's commander, frigate captain Volker Kübsch, and after all, military security also demands secrecy. The German public must accept that there are limits to transparency, even for their own safety. The findings are now being extensively analysed, both technically, tactically and in terms of personnel. The man most in demand during the operation was nevertheless available to marineforum. Mr Kübsch, our deep respect for you and your crew! How many interviews have you already given...
