Let's go! The first ship of the British Carrier Strike Group left the port of Portsmouth on the morning of 1 May. HMS Diamond, a Type 45 destroyer, left her home port to take part in the Strike Warrior manoeuvre off the coast of Scotland over the next two weeks. A short time later, it was "Cast off and in" for HMS Richmond in Devonport harbour. The Queen herself then set off at 16:45. She was joined by HMS Defender, another Type 45 destroyer, and HMS Kent, a Type 23 frigate. To ensure that all manoeuvres were carried out safely...

Coffee for everyone!

The good news for the weekend: The commanding officer of HMS Queen Elizabeth has opened the ship's own coffee shop. Shortly before the Carrier Strike Group set sail for East Asia, Captain Angus Essenhigh treated himself to a mug. On board the aircraft carrier, the selection ranges from Americano to flat white and caffé latte. Naturally brewed in a professional machine with beans from a well-known Italian manufacturer. Tea is of course also available for traditionalists. Just stylish on a big trip. Text: mb; Photo: Royal Navy/Crown...

Russian ships back home

After more than four months, three Russian ships from the Baltic Fleet have returned to their home port of Baltiysk (Pillau). In addition to friends and relatives, the commander of the Baltic Fleet, Admiral Alexander Nosatov, awaited the soldiers there. "Valuable gifts" and honours are likely to have provided additional joy. In addition to the corvette Stojkij, the tanker Kola and the ocean-going tug Yakov Grebesky, the small group also includes the work platform PM-82. In recent months, the corvette and tanker have taken part in multinational manoeuvres in the Indian Ocean and visited ports in Iran, Oman and Sudan. In addition to AAW and ASW exercises, the crew of the Stojkij...
