Ukrainian missile strike against Russian small boats

As spectacular as it may look in the news broadcasts, the "ships" hit by the Ukrainian missile strike are merely the 25-tonne displacement P-boats of the Raptor class (project 03160) launched in 2015. Ten of these 17 boats are assigned to the Black Sea Fleet. Although they are only manned by two marines and are less than 14 metres long, they can accelerate to almost 50 knots. And they have loading capacities for combat swimmers or infantry forces, including a folding "stelling" in the reinforced bow for landings. Ideal for "special operations", but apart from an automatic 14.5 mm MG and two body-controlled 7.62 mm MGs, completely defenceless against targeted fire from drone-controlled missiles! ...

Spain's Armada delivers aid to Ukraine

In the meantime, the "Reina Ysabel" has arrived undamaged in Gdynia, Poland, to unload the 200 tonnes of Spanish material for the Ukrainian armed forces. The former civilian ro-ro transport ship, which was only recently put into service with the Spanish army but is operated by Armada, is packed full of material and ammunition, including 30 special military trucks and 10 lightly armoured all-terrain jeeps (VAMTAC). It is said to be Spain's largest delivery to date in support of Ukraine. Non-military assistance In addition, almost fifty forensic experts will be helping the Ukrainian forensic experts to excavate, document and identify the bodies in the mass graves in the areas occupied by Russian troops....

Moscow's new narrative: cruise missiles now also from submarines

On Friday, the Russian Ministry of Defence published a video sequence on the Telegram messaging service showing the underwater launch of a Kalibr cruise missile from a conventional Kilo III-class submarine in the Black Sea, aimed at Ukraine. Whatever the optics have captured - it has not become a documentary masterpiece! The shots in the semi-darkness, taken at a great distance and correspondingly unclear, do not really confirm the Russian narrative. Nevertheless, this news is worth mentioning because it is the first time that the use of Kalibr from submarines in the Ukraine war has been publicised. And what else is being destroyed This news was underpinned by the claim that the Russian air force had...
