The Colombian Ministry of Defence has confirmed the signing of a contract between the Dutch Damen shipyard and the state-owned shipbuilding complex Cotecmar (Corporación de Ciencia y Tecnología para el Desarrollo de la Industria Naval Marítima y Fluvial). The object of the contract is the construction documentation for Colombia's new frigate PES (Plataforma Estrategia de Superficie - Strategic Surface Unit), which is to be built at the shipyard in Cartagena-de-Indias on the Caribbean side of Colombia. According to the Israeli Ministry of Defence, in mid-September the Sa'ar 6 corvette "Oz" (translated: courage), the second of the four Magen-class units (90 metres long, 1,900 tonnes) built by tkMS in Kiel, successfully fired a "Gabriel V" naval target missile as part of the weapons technology equipment and verification process. On Thursday, 22 September 2022 at 11 a.m., Captain Oliver Jülke (58) handed over command of the Naval Technology School (MTS) Parow to Captain Sven Janssen (51).
