Lautstarkes Aufheulen der Motoren, ein Geruch von Kraftstoff, Gummi liegt in der Luft. Und Menschen, die aus dem Staunen nicht mehr herauskommen. Was nach einem normalen Tag auf dem Marinefliegerstützpunkt klingt, war diesmal den Liebhabern der amerikanischen Boss-Hoss-Motorräder zu verdanken. Knapp 35 dieser V8-Maschinen waren am 3. September im Rahmen eines Motorradtreffs in Nordholz auch beim Marinefliegerkommando zu Gast. Einen Nachmittag lang konnten alle Teilnehmer bei bestem Wetter ihre Maschinen ausfahren und zusammen mit einem der Seefernaufklärer, einer P-3C Orion, präsentieren. DAMEN Naval and Rolls-Royce's Power Systems division have signed a contract for the supply of 16 mtu diesel gensets for the German Navy's four new F126 frigates.
