Charity run: Sea battalion collects donations for a children's home in Lebanon

On Friday, 12 November 2021, the naval battalion will be holding a 12 km charity run at its Eckernförde and Alt Duvenstedt locations between 8 and 10 am. The aim of the fundraising is to support the 48th German contingent in Lebanon in its charitable work on site for the "Mosan Centre for Special Needs". Commander Frigate Captain Norman Bronsch (40) describes it as follows: "After the long cuts caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, my aim is to bring the men and women of the sea battalion closer together again by overcoming challenges together. Rohde & Schwarz Emirates wird die Schiffe mit NAVICS ausstatten, einem integrierten, IP-basierten und ausfallsicheren Marinekommunikationssystem, mit dem die Interoperabilität innerhalb des Golfkooperationsrates unterstützt wird. NAVICS wird ergänzend zu den bereits bestehenden externen Line-of-Sight (VHF/UHF) und Beyond-Line-of-Sight (HF) Kommunikationslösungen zum Einsatz kommen.  Neben der externen Kommunikation stellt NAVICS auch die interne Kommunikation an Bord sicher und gewährleistet eine mehrstufige Sicherheitsarchitektur, die eine sichere, vertrauenswürdige und manipulationssichere Kommunikation ermöglicht. So there are still blank spots on the maps of the earth after all! At least on the charts of the Naval Oceanographic Office (NAVOCEANO) in the Pentagon, there must be previously unknown shallows. This is the conclusion one can come to when reading the results of the US Navy's accident investigation into the accident involving the USS Connecticut (Seawolf-class nuclear submarine) in the South-East Asian Pacific at the beginning of October. The submerged submarine is said to have run aground on a previously unmeasured shoal. The damage to the outer hull of the boat was described as minor. There were also only minor injuries to the crew.
