Uwe Lahl is the new commander of the support squadron

After three years, Frigate Captain Torsten Eidam has handed over command of the support squadron to Frigate Captain Uwe Lahl. Eidam is moving to the naval command in Rostock to work on the conceptual planning of the navy. With Frigate Captain Lahl, another experienced naval officer is taking over the squadron. He can look back on assignments as commander of a fast patrol boat, deputy commander of the corvette squadron and consultant in the planning department of the Federal Ministry of Defence in Berlin. USS Arleigh Burke relocated to Spain

Four American destroyers of the Arleigh Burke class are stationed in Rota, Spain. They have their official home port there and are part of the Forward Deployed Naval Forces Rota. Helicopter recovered from record depth

US Navy recovery team lifts an MH-60 S Seahawk from 5,869 metres from Sidney Dean On 18 March, US Navy recovery forces succeeded in lifting a downed MH-60S Seahawk helicopter from a depth of 5,869 metres. This is a new depth record for the recovery of an aircraft. The helicopter, which belongs to the US 7th Fleet, crashed in the waters off Okinawa in January 2020, but the crew of three managed to save themselves before the aircraft sank.
