Russia continues to rejuvenate its "Kilo" fleet
The rejuvenation of the Russian Federation's conventional diesel-electric submarines is slowly nearing completion. The Kilo class (project 877/636) already comprises 24 boats with a fairly equal distribution across the three fleets, with the first boats already looking back on forty years of service. At the end of October, the "Wolkow", the second boat of the third batch (Project 636.3), a series of six units destined for the Pacific Fleet, was handed over to the Far Eastern command.
