Kiel Week: Inspector Navy honoured with "Order of the French Legion of Honour"

Vice Admiral Jan Christian Kaack receives France's highest honour, the "Officier de la Légion d'Honneur" Yesterday evening on the sail training ship "Gortch Fock": the Chief of Staff of the French Navy, Admiral Nicolas Vaujour, awarded his German comrade the impressive decoration. The decision as to who is awarded the Legion of Honour is made by the current French President. Manuel Macron is the current Grand Master (Grand Maître) of the Legion of Honour. Kaack's achievements in the German Navy and as Inspector of the German Navy and his commitment to Franco-German cooperation were honoured. The "King" shows what it can do once again! It is always impressive to see what the good old SeaKing - or Mk 41 multi-purpose transport helicopter - can do for visitors to Kieler Woche.
