Made in Germany for US sport fishermen

Rolls-Royce delivers mtu engines totalling 300,000 hp for US sportfishing boats Rolls-Royce is apparently about to break the 300,000 hp mark in delivered power with the 10V, 12V and 16V models of the mtu Series 2000 M96. That's about 130 engines. RR is now the market leader in the US sportfishing business. Reliability from Friedrichshafen is therefore popular in the US market. Rolls-Royce exhibited its engines and gave an overview of its automation solutions for yachts, the mtu NautIQ Blue Vision NewGeneration yacht automation system and the mtu NautIQ Bridge, which made its American debut in Fort Lauderdale from 25 to 29 October.

Increase in piracy and incidents at sea

From a press release by the International Chamber of Commerce in Germany (ICC Germany) on the latest report of maritime piracy figures for 2023. In its new report for the period January to September 2023, the ICC's International Maritime Bureau (IMB) has noted an increase in reported incidents in the Gulf of Guinea and raised concerns about the Singapore Strait. The International Maritime Bureau of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) recorded a total of 99 incidents of piracy and armed robbery at sea in the first nine months of 2023 - an increase from 90 incidents in the same period in 2022. So far this year, 85 vessels have been reported...

Great success of the pilot seminar on SAR basic training organised by the DMYV in cooperation with Visiomare GmbH from Bremen The first of two pilot seminars for instructors on SAR basic training organised by the DMYV in cooperation with Visiomare GmbH in Bremen was a complete success. The aim of the seminar was to enable water sports enthusiasts to communicate clearly in an emergency at sea and, if necessary, to take part in professionally guided search procedures in order to improve safety at sea. The programme included the introduction and relevance of the topic "Assistance at sea", definitions, basics for the SAR service, raising the alarm in an emergency at sea, communication in the SAR service, drift factors and search procedures....
