Spain's newest submarine was handed over to its element for the first time on 7 May at Navantia in Cartagena, Spain. The boat with the hull number S-81 has been named Isaac Peral since its christening a few days ago. It is the first submarine to be built entirely in the country. Although the design is based in part on the French-Spanish Scorpene class, there are significant differences.
