Two of the new minesweepers for the Polish Navy will be equipped with the Kelvin Hughes Mk 11 X Band SharpEye navigation radar. It will be part of the integrated navigation bridge system from OSI Maritime Systems and will perform both navigation and maritime surveillance functions. The two Project 258 minesweepers, Albatros and Mewa, were built at the Remontowa shipyard in Gdansk. They are 58 metres long and displace 850 tonnes. The hull is made of non-magnetic steel. The main armament of the Kormoran II class is a 35-millimetre cannon. The radar system was developed by Kelvin Hughes, which was acquired by Hensoldt in 2017. The USS Gabrielle Giffords successfully tested a Naval Strike Missile (NSM) in the Pacific. The ship belongs to the Independence class and is capable of carrying up to eight of these missiles on board. Both types of American Littoral Combat Ships (Independence and Freedom class) carry the same number of NSMs and are the main armament. The missile, originally called Nytt sjømålsmissil, was developed by the Norwegian company Kongsberg. It is equally suitable for engaging sea and land targets up to a distance of over 100 nautical miles. The total weight is 407 kilos and the warhead weighs 125 kilos.

During a visit by French Defence Minister Florence Parly to the Naval Group in Lorient on 30 March, the order for two additional Frégates de Défense et d'Intervention (FDI) was announced. The order was placed by the procurement agency DGA. The acceleration of the FDI programme also serves to secure the order situation at Naval in Lorient, where the frigates are to be built. On 29 March, the KfW banking group acquired 25.1% of the shares in radar manufacturer Hensoldt on behalf of the German government. This gives it a blocking minority. The participation rights are exercised by the federal government. The former division of the Airbus Group was only transferred to Deutsche Börse in September 2020.
