On 3 February 2022, TKMS continued the shipyard trials of the first class 218SG submarine with shallow water trials of the RSS Invincible. Irish officials announced that the exercise was "unwelcome and undesirable", but were apparently unable to convince their Russian counterparts to cancel it.
