Information on the Coronalage General Meeting 2021

Dear members, dear participants of the General Assembly, we are currently receiving many enquiries at the office expressing concerns about the risk of coronavirus infection during our General Assembly on 8 and 9 October 2021. I can assure you that we are exhausting all possibilities to minimise the risk of infection as much as possible. In addition, the number of infections in Wilhelmshaven and "umzu" continues to decline. Attached is our hygiene concept, which supplements the hygiene guidelines of those responsible at the event venues. The following applies to the twilight pint in the German Naval Museum on 08.10.21 as well as to the general meeting on 09.10.21 and the bus transports...

Status of the 2021 member directory

Dear MOV members, some of our members are rightly asking when the 2021 membership directory will be sent out. Our aim is to ensure that the 2021 directory is as up-to-date as possible. Correction of the heading in the "Yellow Pages"

Dear members of the Marine-Offizier-Vereinigung e.V., we made a serious mistake in the "Yellow Pages" of issue 9 of "marineforum". Those who have a birthday in September were already congratulated in issue 7-8 of "marineforum". This congratulation - almost a month in advance - has been customary for many years. The mistake we have now made in the September issue is that we should have written "Birthdays in October 2021" instead of "Birthdays in September 2021" in the headline to the birthdays. The birth dates themselves are the dates of the...

"Ship handover" at the office

Last week, the deputy envoy of the Kingdom of Thailand in Germany, Mrs Viphawan Benniman, presented a Gorch Fock model to the board of the Marine-Offizier-Vereinigung e.V., Mr Vice Admiral (ret.) Nolting. The 1:90 scale model was built by retired Admiral Samart Champirat of the Royal Thai Navy. Admiral Champirat underwent four years of German naval officer training with the X/70. As an expression of his gratitude to the navy, his crew mates and his attachment to the "Gorch Fock", it was his wish to give his ship to the MOV. The transport to Germany and on to Wilhelmshaven was organised by the Thai naval attaché, Captain...

News from the office

Dear members, what goes around comes around. As you have probably already noticed, the password from the Yellow Pages for the member login on our homepage for access to the PDF formats of the marineforum is no longer active. As of Wednesday, 18 August 2021, all members of whom we have an e-mail address have received a message with a personal initial access password for using the pages behind the member login. This first password can of course also be changed according to your wishes. Some members have received the same e-mail several times. Of course, this should not happen. We apologise for this inconvenience. These are technical teething problems. Who...
