China decommissions frigate
The Chinese navy has decommissioned the frigate Dandong (543). The crew members held a ceremony to bid farewell to their unit, which had been part of the fleet for 36 years. Only last year, the Dandong set a new record in the Chinese navy when it was at sea for 103 days continuously as part of a patrol. The Dandong belongs to the 053H1 class, which was developed by the Chinese themselves. It was commissioned in 1985 and was subordinate to the Southern Theatre Command.
