Enormous: Suez Canal turnover at 7 billion US dollars

Egypt expects the Suez Canal's revenues to reach around 7 billion US dollars by the end of the current fiscal year, Finance Minister Mohamed Maait said on 21 May. Tourism revenues are expected to reach between 10 and 12 billion US dollars by then, despite the Ukrainian crisis, he added. The Egyptian budget year runs from 1 July to 30 June.
