Warship has coastguard team on board for police duties. Conceivable in Germany too? According to the Navy Times, the USS Sioux City seized more than 20 million dollars worth of cocaine last month. The Coast Guard team on board was able to seize around 1,110 pounds of the drug from a smuggling speedboat in the Caribbean on 19 September. The Sioux City and a Dominican Republic vessel spotted a "very fast boat" that day, whereupon the LCS (Littoral Combat Ship) Sioux City deployed a speedboat and chased after the smugglers. The smugglers were quickly brought under control.

Bad Homburg: Mayor Dr Oliver Jedynak presented a naval delegation from the frigate Hessen with a plaque bearing the inscription "Bad Homburg - Kurstadt" on Wednesday, 27 October 2021, at the Villa Wertheimber in Bad Homburg on behalf of 11 other Hessian municipalities. The 12 plaques are to be installed on board the frigate Hessen. The presentation of the plaques was initiated by the chairman of the Freundeskreis Fregatte Hessen e.V., Bernhard P. The aim of the Baltic Sea Action Plan (BSAP) and the European Commission is to protect 30% of the Baltic Sea by 2030.
