Minehunting boat "Sulzbach-Rosenberg" arrives
After 4750 nautical miles, the minehunting boat "Sulzbach-Rosenberg" arrived in Kiel's naval port on 15 December. Among other things, the crew took part in Standing NATO Mine Countermeasures Group 1 - a total of 82 days without going ashore. "They have proven that the pandemic has no impact on the operational readiness of the navy," emphasised frigate captain Terje Schmitt-Eliassen, commander of the 3rd Mine Countermeasures Squadron. Together with the NATO unit, the crew searched for contaminated sites in the Baltic Sea and was able to neutralise seven mines.
