Russian Navy: Large workshop ship on its way home - and now?

On the last weekend in January, the large workshop ship "PM-82" of the Russian Navy could be seen travelling eastwards in the Fehmarnbelt. The Amur-class ship (project 304, 122 metres, 5,600 tonnes) was accompanied on its journey from Tartus in Syria to Baltiysk by the support ship "Sergey Balk", which has been commuting between the Baltic Sea and the Middle East for almost a year. Russia's LNG projects make progress despite sanctions

Russia's largest producer of liquefied natural gas (LNG), Novatek, has completed the first line of its "Arctic LNG 2" project despite US and EU sanctions. The first LNG deliveries are scheduled to be shipped in the first quarter of 2024. PROFILE Arctic LNG 2 will have three production strings that can produce a total of 19.8 million tonnes per year. Each line will therefore have a capacity of 6.6 million tonnes. The other two production lines are expected to go into operation by 2026. Red Sea: Houthi attack on US destroyer

At around 2.45 p.m. (CET) on 14 January 2024, there was an attack on a US Navy ship in the sea area off Hodeidah. According to reports from US Central Command, the missile fired at the "USS Laboon" (DDG 58, 1st batch, in service since 1995) was intercepted and neutralised by an unidentified US fighter aircraft. There was no evidence of damage to people or material. The missile was fired from a Houthi-controlled area in south-west Yemen.
