China, Iran, Russia: Joint naval exercises in the Gulf of Oman

From 15 to 19 March 2023, units of the Chinese, Iranian and Russian navies conducted a joint naval manoeuvre in the area between Muscat (Oman) and Chahbahar (Iran). According to a statement from the Russian Ministry of Defence, ten units took part in the "Maritime Safety Belt" exercise: China provided the destroyer 155 "Nanjing" (Type 052D), Russia the frigate "Admiral Gorshkov" and its tanker "Kama", Iran the frigates "Sahand" and "Jamaran", the corvette "Bayandor", the missile boat "Tondar", the small missile ship "Zerekh", additionally the supply ship "Sirzhan" and transporter "Shahid Nazeri", as well as other ships and watercraft. Mission "Preserve the memorial"

On 2 March, District Administrator Stephanie Ladwig presented a grant of €50,000 for the renovation of the naval memorial in Laboe.
