On 2 March, District Administrator Stephanie Ladwig presented a grant of €50,000 for the renovation of the naval memorial in Laboe. The President of the German Naval Association (DMB), former State Secretary Heinz Maurus, expressed his thanks and was delighted that the district of Plön was supporting the mission of "preserving the memorial" with its contribution and joining the "rescue crew".
