On Thursday, 22 September 2022 at 11 a.m., Captain Oliver Jülke (58) handed over command of the Naval Technology School (MTS) Parow to Captain Sven Janssen (51). Captain Jülke was responsible for the MTS for four and a half years or 1,494 days. He also represented MTS in public life in the region in and around Stralsund. On Thursday, 22 September 2022, the commander of Operational Flotilla 1, Flotilla Admiral Henning Faltin (50), will hand over command of the 3rd Minesweeper Squadron from Frigate Captain Terje Schmitt-Eliassen (47) to Frigate Captain Carsten Schlüter (46) at 3 p.m. at Kiel Naval Base. For Frigate Captain Schmitt-Eliassen, this marks the end of a period in command that was characterised above all by the coronavirus pandemic. "The men and women of the 3rd Minesweeping Squadron have shown a very high level of operational readiness over the past two years. Swearing in of junior officers at Mürwik Naval Academy On Friday, 23 September at 10 a.m., Crew 2022 will be sworn in at Mürwik Naval Academy (MSM) in front of relatives and visitors as well as high-ranking guests from politics, society and the Bundeswehr. The award ceremony took place on 17 September 2022 on board the frigate BAYERN. On the occasion of the reception for the 833rd Hamburg Harbour Birthday on board the frigate BAYERN, Captain Michael Giss, Commander of the Hamburg State Command, presented Peter Tamm with the Bundeswehr Cross of Honour in bronze on behalf of the Federal Minister of Defence Christine Lambrecht. Gorch Fock 38th training voyage 1971 Lisbon-Kiel Even half a century ago, photographs were taken of the training voyages of the "Gorch Fock" - albeit in a decidedly "analogue" style. Colourful slides were the standard, and Super 8 films were also shot. Black and white, however, was affordable and allowed all the graphic design possibilities of the "thousand grey values". As I had already worked almost professionally with black and white photography during my school days, I stuck with this genre when I decided to enlist in the then German Navy for four years. Unfortunately, as a professional soldier, I gradually lost the time for photography as my service became more and more serious.
