German Naval Yards presents new corvette at SMM
According to press reports, the German Naval Yards shipyard, also known for many years as Howaldtswerke-Deutsche Werft GmbH, from whose surface shipbuilding company it originated, will present a new corvette design next week at the upcoming SMM 2022 (short for Schiff-Maschine-Meerestechnik), the "world's leading maritime trade fair" in Hamburg. SEAGUARD 96, a 96-metre-long, 2,000-tonne displacement "high-end corvette" for all areas of maritime operations, was developed in collaboration with sister shipyard CMN in Cherbourg (Construction Mécaniques de Normandie, cmn-group.com).
