Aus einer Pressemitteilung des Marinekommandos: Am Freitag, den 15.12.2023 um 10 Uhr, kehrt der Einsatzgruppenversorger (EGV) "Frankfurt am Main" nach 23.000 Seemeilen, entsprechend 42.600 Kilometern, oder einer Erdumrundung, in seinen Heimathafen Wilhelmshaven zurück. Die "Frankfurt am Main" verblieb nach dem eigentlichen Ende ihres Einsatzes länger im Mittelmeer, um nach dem Kriegsausbruch in Israel bei einer möglichen Evakuierung deutscher Staatsbürger unterstützen zu können.
