European Union and Indonesia organise first joint naval exercise in the Arabian Sea

On 14 and 15 August 2022, the European Union (EU) and Indonesia conducted their first joint naval exercise in the Arabian Sea. The exercise involved the Sigma corvette "Sultan Iskandar Muda" of the Indonesian Navy and the Italian frigate "Virginio Fasan" (Bergamini-class) of the European Union Naval Force - Somalia - Operation ATALANTA. The exercise was based on the scenario of an anti-piracy operation. It included helicopter landings on deck, complex tactical manoeuvres at sea, boarding of suspicious vessels and replenishment of fuel supplies at sea (Replenishment at Sea RAS). Revision of - Project 03160: Russia wants to modernise its Raptor combat boats

Based on the findings from the Ukraine war, Russia apparently wants to modernise its fleet of Project 03160 Raptor combat boats. This was announced by the contracted shipyard in a statement. In addition to armament, the focus of the measure will also be on the protection of the boats. The Project 03160 patrol boat, which is designed and manufactured by the St. Petersburg-based Pella shipyard, has been in service with the Russian armed forces since 2015. With a length of 16.7 m and a width of 4 m, the Raptors have a maximum displacement of 23 tonnes according to the manufacturer and can carry a crew of two or three in the hull.

"One of us" charity run - Bundeswehr and reservist running team handed over a donation

On 3 August 2022, the deputy chairman of the Bundeswehr and Reservists running team, Lieutenant Colonel Oliver Muhs, handed over a donation cheque for EUR 5,500 to the commander of the Special Forces Command, Brigadier General Ansgar Meyer.
