Anschütz develops autonomous navigation and deployment system

The specialists at Anschütz in Kiel have developed a navigation and deployment system for autonomous and unmanned naval operations. According to the press release, they have utilised proven and available components. Extensive tests have shown that precise and safe autonomous navigation, control and operation of unmanned platforms is possible. The system allows remote control by a tactical operations centre, e.g. a land station or a mother ship. Anschütz can also realise mobile container solutions for this purpose. The autonomous navigation, tactical mission functions and automation management are based on proven Anschütz technologies. The centrepiece of the overall solution is the SYNAPSIS integrated navigation system, which uses established technologies. Both the...

Rheinmetall supplies new ship simulators for naval training The defence and technology group Rheinmetall handed over the first of seven simulation systems for the Naval Operations School (MOS) in Bremerhaven in 2024. The so-called Training Equipment for Training Navigation (AATN) is intended to enable decentralised, on-site training. In addition to Bremerhaven, further facilities are being built in Flensburg (MSM), Wilhelmshaven, Kiel, Eckernförde and Warnemünde. The ceremonial handover of the third ship simulator in Warnemünde took place in January 2025. The AATN facility enables interdisciplinary nautical training for all ranks and careers. This includes bridge management, communication and basic training. The event on the grounds of the Hohe Düne base was well attended and took place in a relaxed atmosphere.
