Benefit concert in Bremen Cathedral

The Wilhelmshaven Naval Music Corps plays for the campaign for troubled children in Bundeswehr families

The Bremen State Command is delighted to be able to organise a very special concert event.

Together with the Bundeswehr-Sozialwerk e.V., there will be a benefit concert on 2 November 2023 in St. Petri Cathedral in Bremen. The Wilhelmshaven Naval Music Corps will be playing under the direction of Frigate Captain Matthias Prock. The proceeds from the evening will be donated to the Bundeswehr Social Organisation's "Sorgenkinder in Bundeswehrfamilien" campaign. The patron of the event is Bremen's mayor Dr Andreas Bovenschulte. Orchestra conductor Matthias Prock promises friends of church music an incomparable evening: with his orchestra, he wants to bring out the special magic of the cathedral. A programme specially tailored to this location under the motto "Ein' feste Burg ist unser Gott" (Our God is a Mighty Fortress) will create a wonderful spatial sound. The composition "Between the Two Rivers" can be heard, which is a chorale variation on the Luther chorale "Ein' feste Burg". In addition to other works for a multi-choir brass ensemble and for woodwind instruments, the world-famous song "Amazing Grace" will also be performed in a version for a symphonic wind orchestra.
