Federal President visits the German Navy in Eckernförde

On Tuesday, 13 June 2023 at 5 p.m., Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier will visit the German Navy in Eckernförde. Among other things, a ride on a submarine of the 1st Submarine Squadron is planned. In addition, the naval battalion and the Navy's Special Forces Command will present their capabilities to the Federal President in the form of dynamic demonstrations.

As part of the "Local Time Germany" format, Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier regularly moves his official residence to various locations in Germany for three days in order to engage in direct dialogue with citizens and gain an immediate impression of the opinions, concerns and wishes of the people in the region. From 13 June to 15 June 2023, the Federal President will visit the port town of Eckernförde in Schleswig-Holstein.
